Indie Hostel - Koh Tao is a hostel in Sairee Beach on Koh Tao, 100 m from the shore, with private rooms and mixed dormitories. Adults-only accommodation ranges from a private double and single room to beds in six-, eight- and sixteen-bed mixed dorms. The private rooms have en-suite bathrooms, while dormitory bathrooms are shared; room features include air conditioning, kitchen facilities, terraces and mountain views. Free WiFi is available throughout.

The open-air Indie Café and Indie Bar serve food and drinks, and breakfast is available for an additional charge. The front desk can arrange diving classes and snorkelling tours at a special discount for hostel guests. A bar across the road and the surrounding nightlife bring regular music noise: loud music is expected until 01:00, then turned down, with the bar closing by 02:00. Reception takes a break from 19:30 until midnight, with staff on standby at the front desk again after midnight. There is no on-site parking.

Indie Hostel - Koh Tao has two private room types and three mixed-dorm options. The Deluxe Double Room sleeps two, while the Deluxe Single Room is for one; both have private bathrooms and air conditioning. The shared sleeping options are sold by the bed in dormitories for six, eight or sixteen people. The double is 9 m² and dormitory sizes range from 12 to 45 m². Across the range, mountain views, air conditioning, terraces and kitchen facilities are shared features.

The private double also has a city view and kitchen appliances including a refrigerator, microwave, kettle and dishwasher. The six-bed dormitory has a seating area, the eight-bed option includes a seating area and electric kettle, and the sixteen-bed room includes a dining area and tumble dryer. The dormitory beds do not have private bathrooms.

Food and drink are available at the on-site coffee house, restaurant and bar. If you buy breakfast, you receive a 10% discount on other café menu items. Free WiFi is available throughout the property; air conditioning, non-smoking rooms and an adults-only policy are also part of the stay. Outdoor furniture, a sun terrace and a terrace provide outdoor space, while a shared lounge/TV area and games room offer indoor communal space.

Activity options include snorkelling, diving, hiking, canoeing and windsurfing. The tour desk can help arrange outings, and evening entertainment, movie nights, pub crawls and walking tours are also available. Room facilities include kitchen equipment, a dining area, a kettle, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, as well as towels and linen. No parking is available at the hostel.

The hostel is on Sairee Beach, Koh Tao’s main west-coast village and the island’s liveliest strip. The beach stretches for about 1.8 km, with dive schools, restaurants and beach bars along the shore; sunsets face Koh Nang Yuan. Sairee Beach is 100 m from the hostel. Haad Sairee is 350 m away, while Ao Hat Sai Ri is 450 m away. The coastline path runs between Sairee and Mae Haad, and the strip is also the island’s main centre for restaurants, evening bars and dive operators.

Ferries reach Koh Tao at Mae Haad, where Lomprayah Koh Tao Pier is 1.8 km from the hostel. A flat brick shore path links Mae Haad and Sairee in about 15 minutes on foot; pickup-truck taxis provide road transport across the island. Koh Tao has no airport, so visitors arriving by air continue by ferry after reaching a departure pier on Koh Samui or the mainland. The hostel has no parking.

At the coast, you can swim or arrange diving classes and snorkelling tours through the front desk, where hostel guests receive a special discount. Top of the rock is 1.4 km away, Coconut Viewpoint is 1.5 km away, and King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) is 1 km away. For a boat outing, Nangyuan Island lies 3 km away; its islets are joined by sandbars. Sairee and Mae Haad are generally on the calmer side of the island from November to March. From April to October, the east-coast bays of Tanote, Ao Leuk and Hin Wong are generally calmer.
